10 Questions: An Interview With Zenelly

In each interview, we ask the same 10 questions of a local Belizean person.

What is your name?   Zenelly Guerra

Where are you from?  San Ignacio, Belize

What’s your age? 20 years old

What do you do for work?  I am a barista at Coffee De Los Mayas

What’s your favorite thing about Belize? The beauty of the land, I love my home.

What are the biggest changes you’ve seen? The infrastructure, all the roads, and new buildings that have popped up here.

What do you hope/wish for Belize?   I hope that its nature will remain intact, I’d hate to see all the forests go down. There’s just so much life and beauty it would be a shame for it to go down. 

How has tourism impacted your life?  Tourism has made me meet tons of wonderful people that I now call my friends, especially at my workplace. It’s wonderful that others outside of my home get a chance to enjoy it and truly see that life can be an adventure.

What do you look forward to?  I look forward to seeing Belize develop while maintaining its flora and fauna intact, with the help of the Belizeans and their pride in our country.

What are 3 words to describe Belize?   Growing, friendly, and gorgeous.
