10 Questions: An Interview With Peter

In each interview, we ask the same 10 questions of a local Belizean person.

What is your name?   Peter Margesson

Where are you from?  Zimbabwe, but lived in Belize for 25 years.

What’s your age? 72 years old

What do you do for work? I’m a businessman. I own a restaurant, butcher shop, and a farm.

What’s your favorite thing about Belize? The slower pace of life. The people. Not too many rules and regulations.

What are the biggest changes you’ve seen? Infrastructure changes. More sports facilities. Improving medical infrastructure.

What do you hope/wish for Belize?  I wish for a corruption-free government.

How has tourism impacted your life?   Tourism is the main source of income for all my businesses.

What do you look forward to?  My second retirement!

What are 3 words to describe Belize?   Accommodating, Friendly, and Safe.
